The work you see here is still very much a work in progress.
I’ve completed story boards for the first 30 pages of the graphic novel and am now starting to do the ‘inking’ or final drawing of the actual pages of the book. The blue pencil that you see is a placeholder for the lettering which I don’t yet feel competent enough to complete. I’ve photographed the pages of the book (still lusting after a scanner), the ‘blue pencil’ that you can see is magic, it only shows up when photographed and is invisible when photocopied or scanned.
After the inking the pages require colouring and of course lettering. Many graphic novels are completed by a team of people it is not unusual for there to be one person who creates the story, another for the story boarding, one for the penciling, one for the inking, a colourist and someone else completing the lettering. I’m undertaking all the jobs, mostly because I am too disorganised to do it any other way, though I may yet cave on the lettering. I am completing everything by hand, the computer is only being used for scanning and arrangement of the book for printing.
